We strive to ensure that no employee is discriminated against for any unlawful reason. We aim to continue developing our practices to ensure that all current and potential employees have the same opportunity to contribute towards, and benefit from, the development of our business. Some of the initiatives already implemented by us include: ·Updated equal opportunities policy issued in 2004 ·Commencement of training in support of our fair employment policies during 2004. This continued into 2005, with further courses planned for 2006 ·Initial data compiled on the ethnic origins of our UK employees in 2004 ·UK ethnicity data benchmarked against the UK population in 2005, with further benchmarking against ports industry data planned for 2006 ·Initial data compiled on ethnic origins of our USA employees in 2005 ·Flexible working policy introduced for all UK employees in 2005 ·Internal vacancies advertised on corporate website from the beginning of 2005 In addition, during 2006 we shall be reviewing our policies, procedures and employee benefits to ensure that they comply with current legislation on age discrimination.
